HR Specialist (Part-Time)
About the Role
The HR Specialist provides hands-on execution and coordination across the employee lifecycle, supporting recruiting, onboarding, internship programs, benefits administration, payroll-adjacent data review, and day-to-day HR mailbox response. Working under the guidance of the Director of People & Culture, this role partners closely with ADP, hiring managers, and new hires to keep multi-state, multi-entity HR operations accurate, timely, and compliant.
This is a flexible, part-time opportunity (25–29 hours per week) well suited to an experienced HR professional who wants meaningful work without a full-time commitment. Hours can be arranged to fit a flexible weekly schedule.
Responsibilities
Recruiting & Internship Management
- Coordinate recruiting efforts, including job postings, candidate communication, and interview scheduling.
- Prepare and support the distribution of internship offer letters.
- Set up internship compensation in HR/payroll systems and process compensation end dates upon completion.
- Manage end-of-internship logistics, including final paperwork, system deactivation, and offboarding.
- Collect and maintain internship completion documentation provided by the intern's supervisor.
I-9 & E-Verify Compliance
- Manage Form I-9 completion for all new hires, ensuring timely Section 1 and Section 2 processing.
- Create and manage E-Verify cases, including timely resolution of tentative nonconfirmations.
- Maintain I-9 and E-Verify documentation in accordance with federal retention and storage guidelines.
- Track reverification deadlines for employees with limited work authorization and follow up proactively.
- Support I-9 and E-Verify audits and respond to documentation requests as needed.
Onboarding & Employee Records
- Manage onboarding logistics, documentation, and new hire setup across supported entities.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, including ADP and internal tracking tools.
- Support the distribution and collection of employee acknowledgements, including handbook and policy acknowledgements.
Payroll & Benefits Support
- Support employee updates throughout HR systems and payroll administration, including new hires, employee changes, terminations, and data review.
- Assist with benefits enrollment and eligibility changes.
- Escalate payroll and benefits issues and support follow-up through resolution.
HR Mailbox & Employee Inquiries
- Monitor and respond to HR mailbox inquiries; triage and route requests as appropriate.
- Ensure timely follow-up on employee questions and escalate complex issues to the Director of People & Culture.
Compliance & Reporting
- Support HR reporting, including turnover, headcount, hiring activity, and compliance tracking.
- Track compliance requirements, including required postings, filings, and acknowledgement deadlines, and support audits.
- Assist with job description development and updates.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in HR, recruiting coordination, or administrative operations.
- Familiarity with HR systems such as ADP Workforce Now, or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Clear, professional written communication skills for employee, candidate, and internal correspondence.
- Comfort working across multiple states and entities, with an understanding that processes may vary by jurisdiction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting multiple entities or clients simultaneously within a shared services environment.
Work Authorization

Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $25.00–$35.00 per hour
This is a part-time position scheduled for approximately 25–29 hours per week and is not eligible for company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, or other employer-sponsored health and welfare benefit programs. Eligibility for the Company's 401(k) plan is subject to the terms of the plan and applicable eligibility requirements.
Work Schedule
This position is part-time and generally scheduled for 25–29 hours per week during standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Specific schedules may be arranged based on business needs and employee availability.
